Impyrian provided executive management, project management, operations and maintenance, subject matter expertise, construction supervision, and quality control professional services to Veolia Energy to transition a coal fired power plant to a 35 MW Biomass Power Plant in Lumberton, NC. Impyrian provided initial planning and development assistance to Veolia in the planning of the transition as well as design review and coordination. Impyrian also acted as the Chief Engineer, Plant Manager and subject matter expert to train the operators and engineers on best practices for operating the plant. The old coal fired power plant has been successfully transitioned to a Biomass Power Plant that now burns chicken litter and wood chips. The fuel mixture made the engineering and operations a difficult task that Impyrian’s subject matter experts and management were able to overcome to help successfully transition the plant.
